West Bend Wisconsin (April 21 2008) – Cody Smith and his Slinger Wisconsin 5K Motorsports Team are headed to O’Reilly Raceway Park to compete in the ASA Late Model Series North Division season opening event.
Following the rainout at Toledo Ohio two weeks ago the Texas driver and his team are ready to get it started in “Americas Premier Late Model Series”.
“Rain, Rain Stay Away”! laughed Cody Smith by phone today from his home town of La Vernia Texas near San Antonio. Smith was referring to the fact that he has attempted to race in two ASA Late Model Series 2008 openers this year. First the ASALMS Challenge opener at Tri County Speedway – Hudson NC and then last weekend the ASALMS North division opener at Toledo Speedway – Toledo OH. Both events were postponed by rain.
Smith’s comments were taken following a very successful Texas Super Late Model Series race this past Saturday where the eighteen year old driver qualified and finished in second place.
“The 5K Motorsports team has given me a very good handling and fast car at the two previous events and I am looking forward to O’Reilly. Stated Smith.
